In 2005 the Racer X team wanted to raise the bar higher in terms of design and innovation.
The base car was a 1994 Honda Civic, which was widely used in the modified car scene.
Inspired by concept cars and JGTC championship cars, the RCX was born.

The RCX had tons of innovations, most not visible to the eye. The body shell was completely
modified to drop the car lower to the ground and still keep the vehicle drivable. The doors
were cut by 25cm. Instead of making the car look lower by adding aero parts, the car was
dropped and the new side skirts were not any lower than the body shell. The arches were
brought up, the front end lengthened, the rear end built from scratch. The only part of the car
left untouched was the roof, leaving the same glass and windscreen. Air suspensions made
the ride height adjustable for road use, together with an innovative air- lambo door system
which was completely electronically operated both for opening and closing.

The RCX won the extreme class of 2005, making the Racer X team the consecutive top body
styling class champion in the XLR-8 competition judged by MAX POWER magazine.
